Anchor of Hope

In a day where there is so much chaos and seemingly hopelessness situations, we want to focus on the hope and security we find in a personal relationship with God.  Hebrews 6:19 says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

The stories shared are personal stories from a variety of people from our church that want to encourage others along this walk we call “life”.  We can all use some encouragement and hope these days and there is no better place to find this than in the hope that we have in Christ who truly provides an anchor for the soul.

Be encouraged as you read or listen to each heartfelt story from the hearts of others.

How Is Your Temple?

Written by Harlan Block

“Our hearts are the temples where the Holy Spirit resides when we proclaim faith in Christ. What’s the condition of your temple? Is it active and well maintained? Is it truly a place suitable for the Spirit of God or is it in disrepair, abandoned and on the verge of collapse, merely a memorial of what once was?”

Advent Part 4: Unfair!

Written by Pastor Sean Brandow

“How could God allow the suffering of an innocent person? How could anything good come out of it? But the story of Jesus is like that too, isn’t it? This Christmas remember, Jesus left the splendor, richness and comfort of Heaven to be born in a stable…He bore our sin and shame but of his own will. Why? because He loves us and plans to redeem our failure.”

Advent Part 2: A Scarlet Cord

Written by Pastor Sean Brandow

“The mention of Rahab in the midst of Jesus’ genealogy reminds us of the dark reality that we face the inevitable and fateful day of God’s judgement for our disobedience and rebellion...BUT, before judgement God extends Grace. ‘For God Loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus) that whoever believes in Him will NOT perish but have everlasting life.’”

Sink or…Stand

Watch Out! You Steer Where You Stare

Written by Heather Block

“We can often find ourselves in one ditch or another because we are focused on the wrong thing.  We can be gripped by fear and worry and find ourselves stuck there; or we can keep our eyes fixed on our Heavenly Father who is in control and who knows exactly where we are and how to lead us through!”

He Was the Only One

Written by Paul Jefferson

Many people believe John 3:16 in that they can accept that God loves the world. But they have trouble believing that God loves them personally. They say, “Oh you don’t know the terrible things that I have done. How could God forgive me?”

Rest

 Written by Ron Roach

We all have our basic ways of seeking rest.  It can include sleep, reading, walking, a hot cup of coffee, or even some personal time on your electronic device.  But these don’t feel enough so we seek something more. A retreat.  A vacation, time off work. But this doesn’t seem to resolve this longing for peace, for rest.
